John Costi

About

John Costi (b. 1987, London) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, installation, painting, and performance. Drawing on his Cypriot‑Irish heritage and upbringing in London, Costi explores themes of masculinity, class, criminal subculture, and transformation. His work often repurposes found objects and uses gallery spaces as sites of social encounter and healing, seeking to convert passive audiences into active participants and to destabilize hierarchies of art experience. Costi holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and has presented exhibitions such as “Found Football Difficult” (2023), which explored personal archives, scent, sound, and sculpture to consider issues of luck, violence, family, and memory.
